Downtown Mall “Snow” Photos

Last year’s winter in Charlottesville left a lot of Virginians in shock and dismay with two enormous snow storms.  While I on the other hand, was in heaven.  After growing up in Philadelphia where blizzards were to be expected, life took me to Arkansas for 12 years…a very strange land where entire towns shut down at the mere prediction of snow.   So of course I was thrilled last year to get out with my camera and take loads of snow photos at the University of Virginia and on the Rivanna Trail.  This year I was pumped to take snow photos on the beautiful downtown mall, but winter kept ticking away with no real good situations for the snow photos.  When I saw we were getting snow on Wednesday night I was determined to make it to the mall very early on Thursday.  I hurled out of bed early confusing my husband to death,  threw on my Flyers beanie (GOOOO FLYERS!!) over my messy do, and got to the mall as fast as I could.  Only to discover the bricks on the mall weren’t cold enough for the snow to stick.  Sooooo, the few photos below are just some downtown mall photos minus the snow.  I’ll keep my fingers crossed for that one perfect snow day when I can get all the pictures my heart desires.  Followed immediately by a nice 65 degree spring day…is that so much for a girl to ask for??  🙂
