Reminiscing with Stamps?

So, did everyone but me know you have to turn in your old passport when renewing it?  I discovered this the other day when I realized mine was about to expire and it made me irrationally sad.  I feel like so much can be said from the stamps in a passport:  where you’ve been, where you still have to visit and even how much you have grown as a person from your travels.  So of course, I’m a total sap and started taking photos of my passport and symbols of my travels.  For instance I always travel with a camera, which PROBABLY goes without saying, as well as I always try to select a piece of culturally significant jewelry (below is a chocolate Majorica pearl from Barcelona, a Grecian necklace symbolizing health and long life, and a Maori pendent from New Zealand symbolizing growth and new beginnings).  And of course I have my Australian flag representing the six months I lived there in college…arguably some of the greatest days of my life!

Well just a quick blog for this Friday before I pickup my new passport photos and mail off my old book.  I guess now I’ll just have to pout to my husband and find a new place to get my first stamp!  I hope you have a wonderful weekend!  Next week I’ll be working with Jessica Derstine Photography and Virginia Hamrick Photography on a food photography collaboration.  Can’t wait to share those with you!
