In the new age of digital photography almost everyone has access to a pretty high quality camera (hello iPhone!), which personally I think is awesome. (Check out my previous post “Photography with Any Camera”.) After all, I’m a true believer in capturing every important moment in our lives, and digital photography has made that extremely easy for us. That’s not to say I’m claiming professional wedding and portrait photographers no longer have a place in the world…wouldn’t that be the all time worst business plan! Hopefully you will still consider hiring a professional for those really important moments in your life.
This is for multiple reasons really: art direction (what to wear, where to shoot, how to pose!), technical ability in camera (ahhh, it’s horrid bright light, do they know how to make the best of it?), as well as the almighty post-processing we face in this digital world (can they retouch that blemish and/or add a little more artistic flair to the photos?).
To illustrate this point, I thought I’d share some of my before/afters with you, which kind of makes me want to hurl. I’m a self-proclaimed perfectionist…ok, ok, control freak, so sharing unedited images along with finals is not my favorite concept. I feel it’s important though so you may better undersand the detail and work I always want to put into your final prints. Happy, happy Tuesday!
