Kate and Ian met in Scunthorpe, England when Kate left her native Australia for a year to work abroad. They fell in love and struggled with the problems of long distance relationships after Kate returned home to Australia. Thankfully the stars aligned and their love grew to be everlasting. Hesitant to favor Australia or England for their wedding location, they settled on a sort of half way point…Phuket, Thailand. I am so thankful and honored they asked me to join them and capture their special day!
Just love their finger print wedding bands from Chris Parry in the UK.
Loved the hair pieces Kate and her mother wore, I just kept thinking of Kate, Duchess of Cambridge.
Kate and Ian opted for a first look portrait session before the wedding. Gave us amazing time to get SOOOO many portraits!
Just love Kate…she had no problems with my crazy idea to get her up on this giant palm tree in her wedding dress!!!
The Mövenpick Resort arranged the entire ceremony and reception. The ceremony was held on a small lawn nestled in between some of their beautiful bungalows.
First time I’ve ever seen the bride share a high five with her dad at the alter. Adorable!!
I just love it when we can get a portrait of all of the guests. Especially when they have traveled half way across the world to celebrate with each other.
I was SOOOO excited when we came across another event with a baby elephant. My determined side came out and I made sure they got some wedding day portraits with this cute little guy. And Kate got a bonus kiss from him!
Traditional Thai musicians played the ching and khim while guests strolled from the ceremony to the reception site at the Movenpick.
In addition to their cake, the resort offered a variety of Thai desserts…following their amazing Thai dinner.
Congratulations Ian and Kate!! You guys are an amazing couple and I am so honored to have captured your special day!
