Recently, I was thrilled to partner with Santa Barbara Life & Style for a 2014 wedding inspiration shoot to be featured in their February Fashion Issue! Not only was it a joy to work with Jeffrey and his crew again, we also partnered with several other amazing vendors: Coast 2 Coast Collection, Coveted Cakery, The Dress Bridal Salon, JFS Design Inc., Tenley Erin Young, Unveiled Hair & Makeup, as well as Roblar Winery. We all worked together to bring you our take on what will be hot in 2014.
JSF Designs Inc. had a vision centered on helping brides raise the bar in wedding luxury, with the motto “every bride deserves to rise above the cliché of the typical wedding decor”. To capture this vision, we began with the Hanley gown from the St. Patrick 2014 Dreams Collection paired with a drape-over veil by Mikaella. Add some glamorous vintage jewelry from Coast 2 Coast and you have one amazing look!
If you are a regular reader of my blog, you know about my love affair with Coveted Cakery. In addition to my oh so favorite custom photo cookies, Coveted Cakery offers gourmet, artisan made cakes and cupcakes that make the perfect statement at any wedding. The cakes are offered in 6″ and 8″ rounds with 3 layers of cake filled with fresh whipped buttercream. All cakes and cupcakes are made from scratch just for you and your event. They offer delicious flavors for any season including Vanilla Blackberry Syrah, Double Chocolate, Lemon, Vanilla, Chocolate Salted Caramel and many more. They also offer delivery with setup and breakdown as well as rentals of all of their display stands.
The day would not have been complete without the amazing talents of Leah Rose (makeup) and Sheila Stone (hair) from Unveiled Hair & Makeup. Leah and Sheila went for a “super glam with a touch of edge” look for our model, Alyssa. For the first look, they created something sultry and glamorous. Bridal, but with a touch of bombshell. Leah opted for all gold tones with thick winged eyeliner and light peach, glossy lips. And of course topped of eyes with beautiful false lashes. On her skin, Leah used a combination of bronzers, peach blush and a shimmery champagne highlighter to really make her glow! While Sheila perfected the loose sexy waves so popular now and perfect on Alyssa!
Alyssa’s second look combined the Calais gown from the St. Patrick 2014 Glamor collection with a dazzling J-Picone bridal belt as well as a very romantic floral inspired necklace from Coast 2 Coast Collection that paired flawlessly with Tenley’s romantic and colorful bouquet of peonies and roses.
Speaking of bouquets, I was smitten with all things flowers in this shoot, and so thrilled when Tenley Erin Young kindly shared her floral inspiration for the day:
As soon as I heard “vineyard” I was on board. I love an outdoor wedding, nature is just so romantic. I was able to create three very different bouquets for the three very different dresses. Fortunately, Winter/Spring is my favorite season for blooms so I was able to play with peonies, hellebores, tuberose, and other gorgeous flowers. I love mixing sophistication with organic and this was the perfect setting with the perfect gowns.
I have also been collecting vintage containers for a couple years now and I’m so excited that brides are loving multiple mismatched arrangements as centerpieces, it’s so fun and interesting for the guests to always be surprised no matter where they look!
The final look screamed Gatspy glamour! The St. Patrick Hangg gown from their 2014 Dreams Collection paired beautifully with a Pronovias veil, expertly altered by Jayna at The Dress to include a vintage inspired headband. To round out the glamorous look, JFS Designs draped Alyssa in pearls and added a clutch from Coast 2 Coast. Leah also applied a deep plum lip, smudged black bottom liner and added rose blush…a two minute makeup change that completely transformed her look!
